The Pine Island Area Historical Society was organized in 1998.  Located at 314 North Main in Pine Island, MN, the historical society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations are tax deductible.

History Center Hours

The Pine Island Area History Center will be open by appointment only in January and February of 2017. We will begin regular open hours on Monday, March 6th. To schedule an appointment please call Jerry Vettel at 507-993-4860 or Doris Glamm at 507-398-5326.

Regular open hours beginning in March will be:
Mondays from 8-11 AM;
First Sunday of the month beginning April 2nd – 1-3:30 PM
Or by appointment.

Having a Class Reunion?

We invite you to include the History Center when planning a class reunion. We have had good reviews by former graduates who have gathered with their classmates at the History Center and spent time reminiscing about the “good old days.” Please call the Director at 507-398-5326 to discuss options available.

New Auditorium Opening Gala

On Sunday, September 25, 2016, the new auditorium/performing arts center of the Pine Island High School was officially opened with a Gala featuring high school musicians and over 100 alumni of the music department.

2017 Calendars

The Pine Island Area Historical Society’s 2017 Calendar features photos and information relative to Pine Island area schools.   There are photos of buildings on the cover as well as twelve months with miscellaneous pictures.   One month recognizes John Rossi, former custodian.  The calendar also includes tidbits regarding history of the schools.

The calendars are $5.00 each and can be picked up at “Tulips & Truffles” located on North Main in Pine Island.   If you wish to have one sent through the mail, please send your check for $5 plus $3 for shipping and handling to PIAHS, P O Box 165, Pine Island MN  55963.

At this time we also plan to have them available at the All-School Reunion on June 3, 2017 and at our Cheese Festival Open House on June 2, 3 & 4.
